How we work
- Project detailed analysis, including a detailed list of all items required to building the model. This is achieved by a through examination of submitted drawings and requirement documentation. Client will be informed of any missing drawings or information.
- Develop and submit for client approval the color/ material board showing all relevant model parts. Once approved, model-making process will commence.
- Base paper plots of all design and planning documents produced at model scale.
- Model Design by CAD programming/ editing to coincide with model parts at the required scale. This will include all required hatch patterns and signs for all streets, sidewalks, paths and driveways.
- Cutting and scoring of hatch patterns for all programmed model parts on the laser machines and code referencing them and their location per model design.
- Model/s hand assembly by our qualified craftsmen per model design.
- Assembly of a sturdy model base frame. RMI will endeavor to make the base frame as light as possible. Shaping and contouring of the model site plan and its landscaping/ hardscape features.
- Construction of the model table per submitted design if opted for by the client.
- Installation of the electrical wiring and components for the lighting system that will be incorporated into the model format. Lighting for Buildings/ structures, streets, site, and landscaped areas will utilize, as necessary and appropriate, our standard Light Tubes, LEDs, SMDs, Backlights, and or fibre optic lighting. High Rise Buildings shall be constructed with an interior core that houses a suitable light source illuminating random set of windows to emulate real lighting conditions.
- Once assembled, all will be painted with high quality automotive grade paint in keeping with submitted rendering images and the architectural design intent. Sometimes it may become necessary to deviate from rendering colors to augment and enhance the overall appearance of the model according to its scale. We attempt to show whatever possible at scale of the prominent model features and details.
- Model accessories of landscaping, trees, shrubs, water features, people, cars and street furniture will be utilized as necessary to create a realistic representation.
