Oil / Gas and other Industrial scale models represent some of the more complex model making / production.  Navisworks is the standard 3D software used to navigate through such complexes and the models are usually produced using this stand-alone software with some coinciding AutoCAD site drawings. The level of details greatly depends on the level of details in the Navisworks drawings and the scale/ size of the desired model.  Lighting is an essential feature of this type and requires intricate application of small SMD to the various intricate parts as well as zoning lighting that shows the process of operations.  These models often show seawater, various types of boats/ ships, and various types of pipes and cables.  They normally range in scale between 1:100 to 1:500.
